Jo Churchill MP, Member of Parliament for Bury St Edmunds opens Needham Market Football Club’s Community Facility.

With the flourish of a pair of scissors, Jo Churchill MP conducts the official ribbon cutting ceremony to open the newly built Community Facility at Needham Market FC.

The new community facility built at the Bloomfields Stadium has four first class changing rooms on the ground floor to include facilities for home and away teams as well as two changing rooms for referees and visiting officials. The two storey facility also boasts a community cafe and multifunction room that can serve as meeting rooms for business and private individuals. The facilities are fully accessible for disabled visitors by way of a lift allowing the whole site to be fully inclusive.

Robert Peace (below) Operations and Academy Director said that up to 1,000 local people will benefit directly from the new facilities, with the Cafe being open as a drop in facility for the local community.

The new facilities allow for female and disabilities football to be played onsite, so enhancing inclusion within the wider community.

Grants from the Premier League and the FA Facilities fund, The Football Foundation, Viridor, Buildbase, Babergh District Council & Mid Suffolk District Council and Suffolk Community Foundation made the project possible.

I was asked to capture the opening ceremony on behalf of Claret PR, the PR company representing Buildbase, one of the main sponsors of the project.
