RPS Transport at Port of Felixstowe

RPS Transport at Port of Felixstowe

Photo-shoot of RPS Transport at Port of Felixstowe for use on RPS website and marketing materials.

This was the first time I had been on the port-side at the Port of Felixstowe and what an impressive place it is!

We were granted access to shoot a single HGV from the RPS fleet on the dockside while the port was working (well, the Port is always working) which is quite an unusual occurrence, as clearance to go onto Port property for this type of activity is very rare.

We were shooting for the new RPS website…the shoot was in three sections. Section one was at the Port of Felixstowe with one HGV dockside.  Section two was at the RPS’s yard with the whole fleet and section three was on the A14 with a single HGV for some action shots of the lorry in motion.

These shots are a few “stylised” images from the shoot, a larger number of images from the shoot will be available in the transport section of the Commercial part of the website.

The RPS Transport at Port of Felixstowe photo-shoot was a truly amazing experience, the site is huge!  we were under a strict time constraint, so the shoot had to be done at high spread and under strict supervision of the Health and Safety staff at the Port, too ensure we stayed in the clearly marked pedestrian areas.   There are a huge number of moving vehicles on the dockside and preventing accidents is the number one concern of the Port.

It is the UK busiest port and the 35th busiest in the world handling 42% of the UK’s container traffic. with approx 30 shipping lines operating out of the port, connecting to 400 ports around the world. It handles over 3,000 vessels a year including the largest container ships in the world and provides the deepest water nearest to the open sea than any European Port.
