Ninja Tag Active comes to Ipswich….
Ninja Tag active is a unique indoor assault course challenge, but without the mud and mess of an outdoor assault course. It also has the latest up to the minute technology to make the experience and the challenge much more fun than thrashing about in a muddy field!
I was asked to photograph the first public session session of the Ninja Tag experience, which is located at Superbowl Ipswich, with the photos being used on the their new website and in their marketing.
Combining elements from outdoor obstacle courses and TV challenges, players wear sensors on their wristbands that connect to any one of the 120 active “Tag” beacons located in various places inside the indoor arena. Players compete against themselves or in groups or with friends and family to score the highest number of “tags” in a session with all scores being dynamically updated in real time on the games computer system and displayed on game-score screens inside the venue. To score you place your wristband over a beacon.
The indoor area is made up of multilevel zones with assorted obstacles such as the Sea of Ropes, Giant Cargo Climb, Spider Climber and the Giant Ball Room. The venue has a “grunge warehouse” feel to it with lots of cargo netting set in dark lighting conditions. Games are normally 15 minutes long with an additional 5 mins being spent on a briefing session before play starts.
Ninja Tag Active is a fun and challenging experience for all ages over eight years old and all levels of fitness, although you should ideally be a fairly active and agile person as the games can be of high intensity!
