A splash of lemon!
As an Ipswich Commercial Photographer, shooting high speed flash images in the studio is something that I love to do. This shot was taken as part of a series of studio shots putting a twist (of Lemon) on normal food photography. I needed colour, action and drama to create an exciting set of images from a still life subject. So the Mark Witter Photography team swung into action with Tina and Austin setting up the studio for a series of water shots that took several days to capture. The shots were taken in a tank with Canon Speedlites and a canon 5D mark iii.
Timing the shots to capture the action was the tough part. We took hundreds of shots before we started to capture images that looked the way I wanted them. The great thing about shooting this type of image is that it’s brilliant fun to do, but you have to be ready to get really wet. Well your assistant has to be prepared to get really wet! The camera and flash guns were covered in plastic and the studio floor was covered in a huge plastic sheet. Despite this, water got everywhere!
