This year’s run was the best ever, with race starting in Russell Rd in central Ipswich outside Endeavour House, Suffolk County Council Headquarters.

The route is very scenic and is suitable for all abilities,  it passes by the Willis Building and up to Holywells Park and then down to the marina and waterside area of town. Next its out of town down Wherstead Rd, past Fox’s Marina and out through 13.1 miles of amazing Suffolk County side.  Firstly passing under the iconic Orwell Bridge and then the Suffolk Food Hall to Freston and back under the Orwell bridge again and into town past the Felaw Malting and onto the finish line and family reunion area at Portman Rd stadium, the home of Ipswich Town Football Club.

Next year’s event is on Sunday Sept 20th 2020 and you can enter online at the Great East Run Website.
