Team GB Olympian Andy Vernon launches the Great East Run 2019 with a pre event photo call at Endeavour House, Suffolk County Council’s HQ.
Andy was joined by runners and coaches from the Simply Health Outreach Programme on the steps of Endeavour House Ipswich for last minute PR shots to promote the Great East Run the day before the big race.
The Outreach Programme takes local residents who had previously been inactive and helps them reach their goals of being able to run a half marathon. The programme is part of Suffolk County Council’s drive to be the most active county in the United Kingdom. The runners in the programme receive weekly training sessions supported by expert running coaches giving them advice on running techniques, training, nutrition and physiotherapy support.
