The London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London swept the awards with all three winners studying at the University. Two students from De Montfort University received commendations. The winners were 1st prize, Ganna Domnich of the London College of Fashion, 2nd prize Jack McNamara of the London College of Fashion, 3rd prize Lauren Aileen Betourney of the London College of Fashion with Commendations being awarded to Sam Walker and Beth Roberts of De Montfort University Leicester.
Students from the three university that offer footwear degree courses – De Montfort University, the London College of Fashion and the University of Northampton were invited to submit entries to the competition. Five finalists were selected from each institution and their work was judged by three eminent members of the footwear trade. Guy West of Jeffrey-West, the bespoke designer Atlanta Weller and Katie Greenyer, Creative Director of Pentland Brands.
The celebrity shoe designer Chimmy Choo presented the winners with their awards and then posed for photos with guests for nearly an hour before relaxing and mingling socially at the event.
