Simply Health Great East Run launches new partnership with Ipswich Town Football Club ahead of the inaugural Ipswich Half Marathon.
The Simply Health Great East Run announced a new partnership with Ipswich Town Football Club ahead of the new half marathon being held in the town.
The partnership with Ipswich Town Football Club allows The Simply Health Great East Run finishing line to be situated on Ipswich Town’s practice pitch at the famous Portman Road stadium, allowing room for thousands of spectators and half marathon runners to have their own celebratory finish line moment with their supporters and families.
The Half Marathon will see runners tackle a course that has its start line in Russell Rd and heads east out of the town down the Wherstead Road and under the Orwell Bridge .
Food and drink and an exciting event village will also be located on the practice pitch along side stands and tents from the event organisers and sponsors as well as a variety of charity marquees.
The photograph above features Councillor Tony Goldson, Cabinet Member for Health at Suffolk County Council and staff from Ipswich Town Football Club, who have signed up for the Business Challenge where local businesses compete in the Simply Health Great East Run. The event will encourage businesses to make a positive contribution to Suffolk County Council’s ambition for Suffolk to be the most active county in England.
I was commissioned to shoot the photo-call at Ipswich Town Football club for use in local press and on the Simply Health Great East Run website and in Social Media channels.
