The Mayor was Guest of Honour at Ipswich Deaf Children’s Society Summer Ball.
Jane Riley, the Mayor of Ipswich 2018-19 was guest of honour at the Ipswich Deaf Children’s Society Summer Ball, held in the Bobby Robson Suite at Portman Rd, home to Ipswich Town FC.
What great fun shoot this was ! Our mobile photo studio took centre stage at the end of a red carpet, down which all the guests at the event walked before entering the venue. Each guest posed for their photos in our studio area, either as individuals, couples or groups before moving through to the main function suite and bar. After dinner and the speeches, once the music and disco part of the event was underway people came back to the photo area for fun shots with their friends and family, which everybody loved.
Everyone looked amazing! The ladies looked glamorous in their fabulous evening and cocktail dresses and the men looked suave and sophisticated sporting Black Tie and Dinner Jackets or highly fashionable suits.
The Ipswich and District Deaf Children’s Society was formed over 30 years ago as a support group for families of deaf or hearing impaired children. There event was a revelation to me as despite being deaf, all the young people attending were dancing to the beat of the music and having fun with their friends in exactly the same way as young people with out hearing difficulties would do.
The Ipswich Deaf Children’s Society Summer Ball was held as a fundraiser to help finance activities and assist the families of local deaf and hearing impaired children. There was a prize draw, raffle and auction. There was a rousing speech from the Society’s Chairman and awards for individuals who had made major contribution to the society over the last twelve months.
