This was a fabulous PR shoot to celebrate forces sweethheart Dame Vera Lynn’s 100th birthday.
The WPR agency invited me to shoot some PR images for Care UK of the celebrations being held at Cedrus House, Stowmarket to mark Dame Vera Lynn’s 100th birthday.
The staff and residents of Cedrus House invited the people of Stowmarket to join them on Monday 20th March, 2017 to strike a chord for the forces sweetheart’s milestone birthday.
Guests, staff and residents were entertained by local vintage singer Jackie Raven, who performed a wonderful selection of Vera Lynn’s classic songs such as ” Well Meet Again” and “The White Cliffs of Dover” amongst many others. There were plenty of people waving Union Jack flags and joining in the singing with Jackie to the many wonderful tunes.
For a number of years Jackie Raven (above) has been visiting care homes, day centers and sheltered housing events. This is an aspect of her work that she has fully embraced. She loves performing her show to the original vintage audience and travels across Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgshire and Essex.
