Suffolk County Council has announced that Vertas has signed up to be the new partner for the Women’s Tour 2020.
Vertas join Palmer Group as a supporting partner for the tour, who signed a two year partnership deal with Suffolk County Council and East Suffolk Council in late 2019.
This PR photo shoot was taken in the car park at Vertas’ offices to launch the publicity campaign for the UCI Women’s Tour which will return to Suffolk for the sixth time in June 2020. The race is scheduled to start in Sudbury and finish in Felixstowe in June this year.
The group in the shot comprised Ian Surtees, CEO of Vertas Group, Councillor James Reeder, Suffolk County Council Cabinet member for Public Health and Prevention, Councillor Letitia Smith, East Suffolk Council’s member for Communities, Leisure and Tourism and Women’s Tour Race Director, Mick Bennet.
Over the last five years it is estimated that the Women’s Tour has created a net economic gain for the county which exceeds £4.6 million and has attracted over 300,000 roadside spectators and visitors.
